About

Welcome to Pulse—Lifecasting, where we are dedicated to capturing the unique beauty of an individual through lifecasting—capturing a moment in time. We would love to talk you about your ideas, share ours, and ultimately create a one-of-a-kind sculpture of lasting beauty.

Once introduced to lifecasting or bodycasting—we were hooked! The look on a mom or dad’s face when they see the finished sculpture of their baby is priceless. The incredible detail that lifecasting sculptures have is truly amazing. Create a personal lifecasting to cherish to display in your home, or a unique enhancement to your business or office decor.

A lifecasting sculpture makes a different and wonderful gift—especially for that hard to find special person who has everything!

Take your time viewing our gallery. Let your imagination take over as you consider all of the possibilities to use our talents to help you create timeless art that captures a moment in your own life.

Paula Jaworski

I love art! All kinds of art. I love the colors, the textures, the shapes, the sheer creativity of it all. I can’t go without being creative. It is my identity and what I have done my entire life. Personally and professionally. I think being creative is such a wonderful thing to—inspire—encourage—have fun—try out new things—get a new perspective—get caught in the flow and really create something unique.

From a very young age I knew that art was where it was at for me. I fondly recall drawing and coloring for hours on end at the kitchen table and cutting and pasting with my mother. I attended Saturday art classes at the BMA at a very young age. I never questioned what I’d do when I grew up. At the Schuler School of Fine Arts I studied with Ann Didusch Schuler, acclaimed portrait painter and wife of Hans C. Schuler, the sculptor. Then I earned a BFA with honors in Crafts and Graphic Design from the Maryland Institute College of Art.

For several years after graduating from college, I perused a life of a craftsman—fibers, dying, and printing photographs on fabrics, creating quilts, wall hangings, and puppet builder and puppeteer. Then I decided to explore the graphic design world. I have been an art/creative director for magazines, communication design firms, agencies, a book publisher, and a large non-profit organization. My work has been recognized with more than 330 major national and international awards, including this Pulse—Lifecasting website. And woven in, I have taught in the design, crafts, and photography departments in the Maryland Institute College of Art’s continuing studies program and for 5 years as an adjunct professor teaching publications management in the University of Baltimore’s master’s program in Publication Design. All the while I continued to pursue a variety of other creative projects including film art direction, set decoration, costuming, photography art direction and styling, jewelry design, tile making, prop construction, and model building. My career and my success have been founded on experimentation, risk and change.

The past, classic children’s stories, travel, flea markets, my greyhounds, and shadows inspire me. I have an innate desire to make things. Being multi-faceted, now I have retuned to working directly with my hands. Oh, the exciting possibilities that lifecasting offers.

Life moves so fast … and you forget. You forget those tiny hands and feet, and the silly faces they would make. And those other precious times with family and special people. My goal is to capture pieces of that for you. Moments in time … your life.

Paula completed Dave Parvin’s "Life Casting for Professionals Workshop" at the Academy of Life Casting in Denver, Colorado. A master caster and sculptor, Dave Parvin was one of only 5 people in the world recognized as a “Certified Lifecasting Instructor” certified by the Association of Lifecasters International (ALI).
